We Are a Fragrance of Christ

Oct 26, 2025    Pastor Bernard

This sermon explores Christian identity through the metaphor of fragrance, emphasizing that believers spend less than 1% of their lives in church services, making it crucial to understand how to live authentically as Christians in everyday life. Drawing from Paul's letter to the Corinthians, the message teaches that Christians are vessels containing the fragrance of Christ—not the fragrance itself. The sermon identifies three key ingredients of this fragrance: gratitude, victory, and authenticity. Paul's context of writing to the spiritually immature but numerically strong church in Corinth provides a backdrop for understanding how believers should spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere they go. The message challenges Christians to examine whether their lives point others to Christ or to themselves, emphasizing that trials reveal what's already in our hearts and that God always leads us in triumph through Christ.
