Praising Through the Pain

Mar 8, 2026    Pastor Bernard

This sermon explores the spiritual discipline of worship and praise, particularly in times of suffering and pain. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 1:3-7, the message emphasizes that true worship begins internally as a focus on God and manifests externally through praise. Pastor Bernard challenges the congregation to remember that believers were created to worship and serve God, not the other way around. The core message centers on God as the "Father of mercies" and "God of all comfort" who provides comprehensive comfort for all afflictions. The sermon teaches that our suffering has purpose—it prepares us to comfort others and makes us more like Christ. Rather than allowing pain to turn us inward, we should recognize that God's comfort is so complete that it overflows from our lives to bless others. The ultimate call is to praise God not despite our pain, but through it, recognizing that praise doesn't change the pain but transforms our perspective of God as our provider.
