Divine Disruptions
This sermon explores how God uses disruptions in our lives not to destroy us but to transform us and draw us closer to Him. Using the account of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4:35-41, Pastor Bernard defines divine disruptions as permanent foundational shifts where God breaks our existing structures, comfort zones, and trajectories to introduce completely new seasons of spiritual growth. The message emphasizes that being in God's will doesn't exempt us from storms—sometimes God leads us into storms to test and strengthen our faith. Through the story of the disciples' fear during the storm and Jesus' peaceful response, we learn that knowing Jesus brings peace, and we must choose faith over fear. The sermon draws contemporary relevance through the Evans family's experience of losing eight family members between 2018-2020, demonstrating that even strong believers face devastating storms. Ultimately, the message assures us that when Jesus is in our boat, we cannot sink, and divine disruptions have divine purpose.
